Song of the Mountains wins “Telly Award” and announces PBS lineup & tapings through October 2006

Song of the Mountains from the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, VA now boasts a bronze “Telly Award” for their PBS series taped and released through Blue Ridge Public TV based in Roanoke, VA. Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV programs and commercials, as well as the finest video and film productions. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and receives over 12,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries. Telly Awards are based on the merit of each entry, with a bronze Telly representing outstanding achievement.

“It is amazing that after our very first season of Song of the Mountains shows, we have received such a prestigious award!” stated Tim White, executive coordinator and host of Song of the Mountains. “Our second season is shaping up to be even better than the first, which is a hard act to follow”, said board member, Joe Ellis, “Song of the Mountains and the Lincoln Theatre are proud to be showcasing the music of our region on PBS”.

Song of the Mountains is now being offered to 190 PBS affiliates nationwide through syndication. For information to request that your PBS affiliate carry Song of the Mountains please visit ww.songofthemountains.org. The Lincoln Theatre is a 500 seat theatre built in the Mayan style in 1927.
