PBS Concert Taping August 4th with New Hi-def Equipment

Marion, VA- Song of the Mountains will be taping yet another concert for PBS on August 4th and this show will be recorded with new state of the art high definition cameras and equipment. “Through a generous grant from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission earlier this year we have obtained our new equipment”, says Tim White, executive coordinator of Song of the Mountains which is taped at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia. “In the past we have rented production trucks which were very expensive, but now we have our own equipment “in house” 365 days a year which opens up endless possibilities for not only Song of the Mountains but the Lincoln Theatre as well” states White. Joe Ellis who helped create the Song of the Mountains series says, “We are very excited about this giant step forward for our PBS series and for the Lincoln Theatre as well. Our show is being seen all across America and now in parts of Canada and other International opportunities are surfacing for us too. It is great to see this all happening for Smyth County, Virginia!”
